How to upload and use custom fonts
Custom Fonts
The personalization feature supports uploading and using custom fonts, letting your reMarkable display fonts that match your preferences.
Font Selection
In the "Font Selection" dropdown:
- Default Font — Use the system built-in font
- Uploaded Fonts — Choose from your uploaded custom fonts
Upload Fonts
Via Web Upload
- Ensure the device is connected to Wi-Fi or USB
- Scan the QR code or visit the URL shown on the personalization page
- Log in with your Flash Transfer account
- Upload font files on the web page
Supported Formats
- TTF (TrueType Font)
- OTF (OpenType Font)
We recommend using tested Chinese fonts to ensure proper display.
Apply Fonts
Switch on Device
- Select the target font from the font dropdown
- Click the "Restart to Apply Font" button
- Wait for the device to restart
Switch via Web
After setting a font through the web page, a restart prompt will appear:
- A red notice will show "Font changed via web, restart required"
- Click "Restart to Apply Font" to complete the switch
Switching fonts requires an app restart. Make sure to save your current work.
Font Preview
We recommend previewing fonts on the web upload interface before switching, to avoid restarting for an unsatisfactory font.
Restore Default Font
To restore the system default font:
- Select "Default Font" in the font selection
- Click "Restart to Apply Font"
- Wait for the restart to complete
