Important notes for using personalization features

Important Notes

Network Connection

  • Uploading screensavers and fonts requires a network connection
  • You can use Wi-Fi or USB connection
  • USB access address is http://10.11.99.1/p

Upload Process

Do not leave the personalization settings page on the tablet during upload, or the upload may fail.

Handling Upload Failures

If upload fails:

  1. Check if the network connection is working
  2. Confirm the file format is supported
  3. Try reducing the file size
  4. Re-enter the personalization page and try again

Screensaver Notes

Loading Time

  • High-resolution screensavers increase sleep screen loading time
  • Use images matching your device resolution
  • Avoid overly complex or large images

Size Mismatch

If the uploaded image size doesn't match the device resolution, the system will auto-scale, which may cause:

  • Image distortion
  • Incomplete display
  • Quality loss

Font Notes

Restart Required

  • Fonts require a restart to take effect
  • Restart is needed whether changes are made on device or via web
  • Restart typically takes only a few seconds

Font Compatibility

  • Not all fonts are perfectly supported
  • Some special fonts may display incorrectly
  • Preview before switching is recommended

QR Code Access

  • QR codes contain pre-authorization info for direct access
  • Clicking "Reset QR Code" generates new access credentials
  • Old QR codes become invalid and must be re-scanned

Data Storage

  • Uploaded screensavers and fonts are stored locally on the device
  • Uninstalling Paperweight will clear these custom resources
  • We recommend keeping backups of your original files
